Have you never been mellow?  Well, get in line.  The new seriously gorgeous Mellow Moods is open for business and the cafe habitues of Shepherdstown couldn’t be happier.  We’ve always been a huge MM fan but on a day that felt so Big Sur or Carmel,  Mellow Moods opened their doors just two doors down from their old shop.  And we’re ecstatic!  Phil and Shanna Mastrangelo run a lovely business and may just be responsible for my three year-old’s latest obsession: purple onions (which she previously despised)!  When we visited yesterday, Vivi didn’t gush for the usual mango, coconut, pineapple, jungle express, monkey business smoothie.  She suddenly turned to me slowly, quietly nudge nudge and said “Mommy, what is that yummy smell?”  I totally knew exactly what she was referring to because my eyes (and nose) were glued to the beautiful purple onions Phil was grilling and maybe dousing with a balsamic splash.  The smell alone was enough to make me toss aside my silly juice diet and to instantly purchase any and every piece of solid food from MM that I could get my hands on and that Phil’s hands had actually touched.  And with their expanded hours, I’m pretty sure I can do a breakfast/lunch/dinner thing.  Yeah! 

But no worries for the juice-ivores.  The juice is still plentiful, colorful and delicious!
